Within Workday's CTO Office, I build enterprise AI for Fortune 500 multinationals. Before that, I co-founded Zuodao, a Sequoia-backed startup acquired by Alibaba whose data and workflow foundations helped build the Qwen LLM family. I also serve on the Cal Poly CS/SE Advisory Board and the YMCA of San Francisco board.

A machine-human hybrid labor platform that Alibaba acquired to anchor its language engine.
- Grew to 100+ people. Backed by ZhenFund, Sequoia, and CBC Capital. Alibaba acquisition in 2015.
- Foundation for Qwen. Built the human-in-the-loop pipelines that became the multilingual backbone for Alibaba MT and the Qwen LLM ecosystem.

Engineering Foundations
High-throughput payments, scientific computing, and startup engineering.
- Allinpay, Vice GM. Internet payments R&D for one of China's largest payment switches, with billions in transaction volume. Built the cross-border Customs Declaration API.
- Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Built groundwater modeling tools; DOE Research Challenge nominee.
- ReelSurfer (Y Combinator 2012). Early video-platform engineering in Silicon Valley.
Pixels, Ink, and Weekend Hacks
I made an app that peaked at #4 on the original App Store in 2009 and is still shipping today, rebuilt for modern iOS in 2025. I also established the design identity of China's first skateboarding magazine.
- SimpleDraw. One of the first iPhone drawing apps — #4 most-downloaded free productivity on the original App Store.
- Grip Skateboard Magazine. Art director for China's first skate publication; established its creative direction.
- Open-source projects. PubVox (self-hosted ePub to audiobook maker), swiftwave-skill (agent ops for a PaaS), sticky-roll-world (a Three.js browser game).
Giving Back & Advisory
Eight years of nonprofit board work, and a seat at the table where Cal Poly decides what to teach.
- YMCA of San Francisco. 6+ years on the Board (now Emeritus), providing fiduciary oversight of a nonprofit with $100M in revenue. Crisis mitigation work during COVID-19 pandemic.
- Cal Poly SLO. Computer Science/Software Engineering Industry Advisory Board, working on curriculum strategy and workforce readiness.
